Dear Strings,
I hope all had a nice Easter/Passover/Spring Break.  As you know, our first concert is at Pohick Regional Library on Saturday, April 21.  Orchestra call is 1 PM.  And the program for that day is:

Symphony no.1 in B-flat Major                                       William Boyce
Allegro – Moderato e dolce – Allegro
Seven Last Words of our Lord and Savior XX:1B             Joseph Haydn
Sonata 1 and V
Two Elegiac Melodies op.34                                                Edvard Grieg
Heart’s Wound – Last Spring
St. Paul’s Suite op.29 no. 2                                                Gustav Holst
Jig- Ostinato-Intermezzo-Finale
Serenade for String Orchestra op.11                                        Dag Wiren
IV. Marcia

And the focus for this Thursday’s rehearsal is . . . the same as above.   Remember, from here on we’re going an extra half-hour, from 7:30 to 9:30, to make up for the cancelled St. Christopher’s event; so we’ll try to get through the whole program Thursday.  Besides, we need the extra time with this rep.  Please note, if you have repertoire suggestions for next year, let Ruth know.  She’ll try to work them into the summer sight-reading list.
Attached:  By popular demand, I’ve attached generic concert flyers that I send to the libraries.  For the past several years, all I’ve done is change names and dates.  Most of the libraries make up their own flyers, anyway.  I normally don’t get those, but you can pass along these attachments to your friends.

See you Thursday,
